Nice summary of all instructions you need to known to manipulate Debian-like packages on your favorite distribution (that is Debian-based...):

Introducing Indie Web Server 8.0.0: install the server and start serving a secure static personal web site in literally seconds

Video demo + short post:

I hope it makes your lives easier. This is one of the earlier pieces of the puzzle in the Hypha project.

(It took two weeks and a couple of false starts but Version 8.0.0 introduces native binaries for Linux and macOS. Production use via startup daemons is supported only on Linux platforms with systemd.)

The @blender community have done it again! Behold Spring, Blender's new film. Beautiful designs and fantastic effects show how you can create professional, Hollywood-grade CGI using Free Software. Congrats Blender!

If you are getting a Pepper and Carrot vibe, it is no coincidence: @davidrevoy, creator of P&C, used @krita to design the look of the film:

Google is bringing AMP to Gmail not for your convenience or to increase speed, but to change your mailbox into a platform for marketers so that the ads jump into your face. Better switch to an email service that respects your right to privacy. 😉
5 Reasons why AMP for email is bad:

Alright! We're now running 0.9.99!

Two notable updates on this release:

1. The MastoFE has switched from the Tootsuite (or vanilla) Mastodon to the Glitch-soc fork!

2. One of the people who signed up told us that they thought the registration form wasn't very clear. Especially the Bio was confusing. Naturally we made an issue on the pleroma issue tracker, in less than the day the issue was resolved and now we have it on our server! Check out the registration form to see the changes!

A big thanks to Dave (sry, I don't know your account on fedi) for implementing this change so quickly

Also a big thanks to the person who gave us this feedback! You can now say that you have contributed to bringing a better user experience to Pleroma 😉

This is a note to people moving their repositories blindly to do you know Google is actually a huge investor in Gitlab?

The issue is not about Microsoft buying Github. The issue is about centralization and silos.

You do not solve that by moving your data from one silo to another.

You solve that by relying on small providers you can trust, or by becoming a provider yourself.
